Dean Sharman from Leicester has been playing the bass guitar since he was 13

Dean Sharman, known as D.j Sharman's Blues Bar, is a solo blues musician from Leicester.

Having a life-long passion for the original blues of the Delta region his music is heavily influenced by this era.

During his 27 years experience as a bass player, he has played alongside great musicians such as Ian Siegal.

In another two years, Dean will go onto degree level in music production, while he promotes his own material.

He believes that, "music technology is moving so fast, so keeping in education helps to keep up with it.

"You meet more people through education, people who are enthusiastic about music."

Dean has been playing the bass guitar since the age of 13 and later learnt to play a six-string guitar, using a bottle neck slide.

"It's easier to play a slide guitar than a standard guitar".

Inspirations for Dean's latest song 'Whisky When I'm Frisky' came from working on a steel engineering site.

He joked, "There are a lot of good alcoholic drinks that rhyme with some good words".

D.j's Blues Bar will be performing on 29 July 2010 at The Donkey on Welford Road, Leicester.
