Leicestershire's Hannah B has just released her debut single 'Jealous'
A 20-year-old singer from Leicestershire is preparing for the biggest gig of her life after being asked to support James Morrison. Hannah Beighton from Kimcote near Lutterworth will support the award-winning artist when he performs at the Leicester Tigers stadium in July. She has just released her first single and is hoping 2010 will be her year. Following his success supporting Kasabian last year, Leicester's Jersey Budd will also feature in the line-up Hannah originally attended a performing arts school with dreams of becoming a West End star. But the experience led her to searching for her own style, writing her own songs and becoming a solo artist.
She had been regularly gigging around the country, as Hannah B, when she heard about the James Morrison concert and pushed to have her name put forward as a support act. It wasn't just Hannah who was over the moon to hear she had been chosen; her mother Judy said she is very proud of her daughter. "She's always sang in her bedroom, in the shower, she's annoyed her brother extremely, but we've supported her, we've been up and down the country playing at pubs and clubs and family events, garden parties. "She's just getting better and better. The Welford Road stadium has a capacity of around 24,000 as a sporting venue, but Hannah is not sure how big a crowd to expect. "I'm actually more nervous about meeting James Morrison than I am about doing the actual performance. "I'm not really sure why, but performing is something that's in my blood and that I love, but I've never met anyone like that before so it will be really exciting to meet him. "Hopefully he'll be nice to me," she added.
