"We love being together writing and playing and just generally hanging"
Who are Neon Sarcastic?
We are a five piece power pop/pop punk band who love what they do no matter where they are!
Where are you based?
We are based in Leicester City, but we are all spread about the town.
How did you get together?
We have been together for just over two years.
Who or what are your greatest influences?
We genuinely think of ourselves as influences but if we had to pick a few bands Youmeatsix, Fightstar and New Found Glory would be included in the list.
What do you do when you're not making music?
We work and have fun really.
We love to go out on the town and have a really good time which helps with song writing as we can take the experience and write about it.
What do you make of the music scene in Leicestershire and Rutland?
The music scene around Leicestershire and Rutland is very busy at the moment with a lot of good upcoming bands appearing from all sides with the addition of some pretty good venues and a few great music festivals.
Who are your favourite local bands at the moment and why?
We haven't really had the chance to check out local bands as we've been really busy on our album and album release around the UK and the world, but we're sure there are a lot of great bands around who love the music as much as we do.
Where had you toured? Do you have any albums out?
We have just recorded our first professional album which is being advertised and sold over many different music download sites.
As for touring and gigs we are currently sorting out different tour dates around the UK with a few well known bands at some really good venues.
Best gig so far?
"We can't really chose a best gig as we enjoy every gig we play"
We don't really have a best gig, but if we had to chose I would say either Glastonbudget 2008, as we played in front of a lot of people, or a private party gig we played in Countesthorpe where you really couldn't move and was just a generally great gig.
We can't really chose a best gig as we enjoy every gig we play.
And worse?
We've never really had a worst gig.
We've had a few bad ones where the equipment has failed or times where we had to cancel due to illness, but we look at every gig as a good time to practice and get better no matter how big or small the venue is.
If you could change one thing about Leicestershire what would it be?
More people into the music with better and bigger, more packed out, and promoted places to gig.
What's been your most embarrassing music themed moment?
One time whilst we was playing a gig our rhythm guitarist snapped a string and we didn't have a back up so it was just crazy, but in the end everything sorted itself out and we carried on and enjoyed the rest of the night.
What's the best line you've ever written?
We all have our own opinions on what the best line is so we couldn't really pick one out of the bunch.
We've enjoyed writing all of our songs and enjoy playing them which is what music is all about, enjoying it and making it fun.
Who's your biggest fan?
We've had a few but again we can't really pick one out.
I'd say ourselves are the biggest fans of the band as we love being together writing and playing and just generally hanging with one another on and off the music scene.
