In pictures: Monotonix in Leicester
There were two types of festival-goers on the last day of Summer Sundae Weekender 2009 - those who had seen Monotonix, and those who had not. BBC Leicester's Becca Bryers captured highlights of the set, including the famous balcony dive.
Monotonix are an increasingly popular garage rock band hailing from Tel Aviv in Israel who are known for their 'gloriously untethered' performances.
The three piece group took to De Montfort Hall's indoor stage... well almost. The band's kit was set up in the auditorium with guitarist Yonatan Gat kicking off the musical proceedings.
During the first half of the set the fast paced music was continuous, even as the band and their equipment moved across the room - occasionally with a band member on top.
Audience members were actively encouraged to get as close as they liked to the band - sharing the beats and the sweat. It was not long until band and crowd combined in the name of making music.
After doing a circuit of the auditorium, Monotonix decided to try their luck elsewhere in De Montfort Hall. Although their move to play in the bar was blocked, the drummer found an ideal spot in the balcolny seating area.
Their newly found fans were only too happy to follow lead singer Ami Shalev , although security may have had other feelings.
Throughout the set band and audience members were drenched with each others beer and water. Here a fan offers a seat and a quick swig of water to drummer Haggai Fershtman.
Things got a bit hot and sweaty as the manic dancing continued and more festival-goers gathered.
While the drummer and fans took the more traditional route down the stairs to return to the auditorium, drum kit scattered amongst them, the lead singer had other plans.
Why bother with stairs when you can get there much quicker? Luckily the auditorium crowd were more than happy to catch the adventurous singer.
After all that excitement the band decided it was time for a bit of a sit down. The over-running set eventually ended when the sound plug was pulled.
