Fireworks will arc across the sky at six different official displays
Leeds will go with a bang when firework displays take place across the city to celebrate Guy Fawkes night. The annual events at six sites around the city will have community bonfires and firework displays lighting up the night skies. The largest display will take place in front of around 70,000 people in Roundhay Park. All six events will be held on Thursday 5 November 2009. Fireworks won't be the only thing sparkling at Roundhay Park during one of the largest bonfires in Yorkshire. The Super League trophy, which the Leeds Rhinos retained at Old Trafford for a record third consecutive year, will be making an appearance along with Ronnie the Rhino. The celebrated win for the Rhinos saw them beat rivals St Helens to secure a place in history and bonfire night at Roundhay will be another chance to celebrate the team's victory. The event at Roundhay, organised by Leeds City Council, is the largest firework celebration in the city attracting a crowd of around 70,00 people. The Roundhay Park bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm with fireworks at 8.00pm.
