You can only vote in elections if you are on the register
It's your last chance to make sure that your details are correct on the electoral register.
All households are required by law to respond to the annual canvass. The register of electors is a list of the names and addresses of those registered to vote.
Failure to respond or giving false information could lead to a fine of £1000.
The deadline for returns is Tuesday 7 September 2010.
More than 333,000 registration forms have been delivered across Leeds for the annual electoral register which will be published in December.
If your household details have not changed since last year, you can reply via text message, online or a freephone telephone number (saving the council postage). You can also post your response.
However, anyone with amended details will definitely have to send a signed form by post.
Last year sending out reminders to people who did not reply cost the council around £65,000.
