Waterloo Road cast and crew at Fulwood Academy, Preston
BBC North West Tonight's Elaine Dunkley visits the students in Preston
BBC One's contemporary school drama Waterloo Road has recently started a sixth series, with the seventh series currently being filmed in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
But the crew and cast haven't just been busy filming on set.
They've also been filming in real schools across the North West.
They've been working with students at four schools, including Fulwood Academy in Preston, to help them make their own mini episodes of the drama.
The schools worked with scriptwriters from Shed Productions, who make Waterloo Road, to come up with three to five minute episodes touching on one of the following themes: 'The New Kid', 'First Day Back', 'First Day as Head Boy or Girl' and 'First Day as Teacher'.
The films premiered at a screening at the Printworks in Manchester on 5 October in front of paparazzi, entertainment journalists and cast members Robson Green, Mark Benton and George Sampson.
Waterloo Road Series 6 is on BBC One and the BBC HD channel, Wednesdays 8pm.
