Anna Jobarteh was spotted at Scream Theatre workshops
A Blackpool teenager prepared for her first day back at school by watching herself play the new girl in one of the most famous schools on TV.
Anna Jobarteh, 14, makes her debut in BBC One's Waterloo Road tonight as Ruth Kirby in the school based drama.
"I'm so excited and can't wait to watch the show," enthuses Anna who is a pupil at Highfield Humanities College.
A fan of the show, she is still pinching herself at landing the role.
"I couldn't believe it when I got the part," she says.
And the schoolgirl from Marton wasn't disappointed when she arrived on the set. "I had so much fun on set and everyone was so nice."
She swapped her Highfield uniform for the Waterloo Road get up to play Ruth, an academically bright pupil with attitude in the sixth series of the drama.
The character started with a bang; the police had to organise a search party to find her after she ran away on her first day.

It isn't the first time Anna has appeared on the small screen, though.
She starred in BBC One's science fiction drama Paradox and spent part of the summer holidays filming a new CBBC drama, which will hit screens later this year.
Anna says she has always been interested in acting but presumed you would have to go to stage school to break into the industry.
However, when she spotted an advert in the local paper for Scream Theatre Schools workshops in Blackpool she decided to give it a go.
She was immediately bitten by the acting bug. "I absolutely loved it," says Anna who was soon snapped up by Manchester based casting agency Scream Management.
Anna's mum, Jane Dickinson, is really proud of her Anna's acting success while maintaining her grades. "She has done exceptionally well in such a short space of time."
The new series of Waterloo Road, BBC One starts on 1 September at 8pm
