Lytham Hall was all wrapped up for Christmas - with a 6ft x 4ft crimson bow to be precise! Twenty five flower clubs - and two junior clubs - across the north west joined forces to transform Grade I listed building Lytham Hall into Christmastide
The celebration of Christmas through flowers, fragrance and fun attracted over 3500 visitors and raised monies for RNLI. It was the third and final Flower Festival in the Christmastide Trilogy organised by NW members of NAFAS
Designers Karen Schofield (left) from Clifton and Joan Twigger (right) took a year to turn the entire Country House into a shrine to Christmas. Joan said: "We wanted to utilise the features of Lytham Hall and bring it to life with everything Christmassy"
In the Dining Room was a feast of festive fine dining Edwardian style
It was party time in The Gold Room with a Fantasy Masked Ball. The masked topiaries were made by Diana Jones from Club in the Park flower club
More frivolity in The Partners Room; the theme was the Night Before Christmas with an invite to a Victorian style Christmas Eve tipple
One Victorian lady was happy enough with her tea and flower cup cakes, though
At the top of the stairs in Lytham Hall was Baron Petre. His infamous moustache flowed all the way down the staircase
In the Long Gallery the Morebambe Bay club provided a wonderful white Christmas spray in the Canadian snow scene
It was Christmas Morning in the Pink Bedroom. Pauline Wearden from Pilling has a chuckle as the lady of the house is surrounded by presents and an empty bottle of gin (apparently a florist's favourite tipple!)
In keeping with the Pink Bedroom, the lady of the house's dressing table was adorned by a pink posy!
The Dressing Room featured NW NAFAS President Gillian Platt's decorative cake and her home-baked shortbread and Muriel Simpson's striking fireplace decorated with grand prix roses complimented by orchard decorations. (L-R) Gillian Platt and Muriel Simpson
While the lady of the house has her gin - Alex Wilson from Blackburn went to pot in the billiard room!
The Enchanted Forest attracted the most attention out of all the displays. Karen says: "We wanted to utilise the colour scheme in the Formal Hall so stuck to naturalistic green and white. Adding the woodland sprites brought the winter wonderland to life."
