Steve wakes up Kent at 5am with the Early Riser - it's brightest start to your day, with great music, travel, weather, sport and news. Joining BBC Radio Kent in 2002 to temporarily present the station's early show, the Early Riser. Steve is still here! Every weekday he gets up at 2.30am in order to bring Kent the best wake up call in the country. Born and bred in Cornwall, Steve Ladner has been on the radio since 1992. He was one of the launch team behind a successful commercial radio station on the Channel Island of Guernsey. He stayed there for five years and then following interviews at BBC Radio 1 and Virgin Radio, he eventually settled into life in Kent working for commercial radio until he joined the team at BBC Radio Kent. Steve lives in Dover with his wife Helen and two fat lazy cats called Barrel and Jess and in his spare time is a member of the Dover Lifeboat crew.
