Psoriasis: Susie's naked truth

Susie has had psoriasis for the last 14 years and has been posing with other sufferers for a series of nude photographs.

The photographs by Daniel Kennedy form part of The Naked Truth campaign, and make a statement about the stigma surrounding psoriasis.

For many sufferers, just rolling up their sleeves can be difficult, so posing nude is seen as a brave step.

Daniel has photographed the likes of Kiera Knightley and Angelina Jolie.

Susie finds living with psoriasis very tough. Her self esteem can become very low, especially when suffering from a flare up. She still feels it controls her life, and has never been able to enjoy beach holidays with her children.

Two years ago, Susie also developed psoriatic arthritis, which has meant that walking the dogs and playing tennis have been getting more difficult.

Having had her photos taken for the campaign, Susie now feels more confident and is determined to ensure that the condition has a minimal impact on her everyday life.

World Psoriasis Day is on 29 October 2009
