Tim Ellis: UK cani-cross champion

Tim goes on a training session on the River Medway with Katherine Downes

Tim trains along the River Medway near his home, and is the current UK and Crufts champions in the senior male category.

His dog, Bella, is fitted with a harness and then attached to Tim's waist via a special belt.

The dog runs along in front and allows Tim to reach faster speeds than he would achieve on his own.

The sport originated in Scandanavia as a way of keeping the husky teams fit over the summer months.

The first organised race was only five years ago. All races in the UK raise funds for animal charities.
