Remembering the Boulton Paul Defiant aircraft

The Boulton Paul Defiant was a sturdy aircraft but it was not as agile as the Spitfires or Hurricanes.

On the 19th July 1940 nine out of the ten Defiant aircraft deployed to fly between Folkestone and Dover were shot down by German Me109 planes.

The only surviving Boulton Paul Defiant is being restored at Rochester airport before going on display at the RAF museum in Hendon.
