Peter Firmin is an artist and animator who along with Oliver Postgate created a number of popular children's TV programmes including The Saga of Noggin the Nog, Ivor the Engine, Clangers, Bagpuss and Pogles' Wood.

Peter, now 81, is showing his new works of art in an exhibition called Tall Ships and Sea Shells inspired by his love of sailing. The exhibition at the Horsebridge Arts & Community Centre in Whitstable is on until 17 August 2010 and features nautical themed art inspired by Peter's recent sea voyages. It also shows work by Justin Mitchell and Peter's daughters Charlotte, Hannah, Josie, and Emily.
