Why are you standing for Senator?

Because Jersey is at a crossroads and I have the experience to help. We are over-reliant on one industry which will increasingly be under attack from outside.

Exacerbating our impending financial problems is a public sector that is out of proportion to Jersey's needs.

What can you achieve in 18 months?

Within those 18 months are two Budgets which will set Jersey's future course. We have to get it right now.

If elected, I can start work immediately, initiating a long-overdue review of our public services by lodging appropriate Propositions for debate.

Is ministerial government working?

The previous committee system wasn't perfect, but was ten times better than the present shambles where ten ministers run the Island - with the 43 others spending their time (and your money) trying to find out what they're doing.

How far do you think Jersey should support the islands finance industry?

Given current financial restraints - no more than at present.

Funds would be better employed encouraging other industries to grow ready to replace finance when it either leaves or no longer provides sufficient return to the exchequer.

How should Jersey's housing shortage be addressed?

Housing shortage is a function of supply & demand - and policies designed to keep prices high.

If we stopped bringing people in in the mistaken belief that more workers will solve the pension crisis, there would be less demand / greater availability.
