Plan for allotments in St Saviour
Mr Le Quesne wants to share his findings with parish halls

A Jersey landowner wants to make a model system for parish allotments.

Andrew Le Quesne is hoping to turn a field in St Saviour into allotments and wants to make it easier for others to do the same thing.

Mr Le Quesne is trying to get planning permission to develop the allotments in a field at Five Oaks.

He's making a template of any problems he comes up against in the process to use as a guide for anyone else wanting to set up a similar scheme.

Mr Le Quesne is planning to send his template to all parish halls so it's readily available.

He hopes this will take the mystery out of what needs to be done to turn a site into allotments and encourage more people to do the same.

Have your say
Would you support the introduction of allotments around the island? Would you want to keep an allotment?

Yes, I agree with Betram, keep gardens and allotments out of Five Oaks, much more suitable for houses and industrial uses.

I hope allotments dont get put on environmentally sensitive land such as at Five Oaks green belt nature rich area.

Would town park allotments work?
