Wizard and the Frog return to Jersey to play Club Kamikaze
|
A new monthly club night will launch in Jersey on Friday 13 November 2009. Club Kamikaze is the brainchild of Chris Bell and will join the already established Asylum nights at the Live Lounge in James Street, St Helier. Chris is no stranger to putting on club nights, he ran regular alternative music nights in London under the Beat Happening banner. "The idea is to get some old friends from back in London and do their thing in Jersey," said Chris. The first night will take place on Friday 13 November and will see The Wizard and the Frog return to their native Jersey. They'll be joined by DJ Emba Djemba who will be combining tribal beats and acid synths and screening his short film Congo Jail after his performance.
Brobots will also play the first Club Kamikaze at the Live Lounge

Live Lounge favourites, Brobots will also be performing alongside Chris Bell's own act The Midnight Expresso. "We're going to be bringing some great bands and DJs over from the UK and its going to be a little bit more alternative, more left field than things that are on offer currently in Jersey. "Hopefully it is going to add an interesting dimension to the Jersey live music scene," said Chris. The night got its named after Chris tried to explain the event he was putting on to a friend. "It came from a conversation I had with someone, I was telling them I was putting on something a bit more left field than Jersey had to offer and they said I was on a bit of a suicide mission," said Chris. This is going to be the second regular live music night at the James Street venue, joining the Chris Almond's established Asylum nights. There will also be a screening of Chris Bell's short documentary The Tornado of Fame. The event is on Friday 13 November at the Live Lounge in James Street from 21:00 to 02:00 and tickets cost £5 on the door.
