Pockets from Fight Like Apes woke the crowd with a bang
Jersey Live on a Sunday morning is always something of a sober and slightly sedate affair, with festival-goers recovering from the night before.
But that wasn't good enough for Fight Like Apes keyboard player, Pockets.
He decided to take it upon himself to wake the crowd from their Sunday morning chill out, while the rest of the band played on without him.
Pockets went behind the stage and came back with a large metal bar he then used to hit the crowd barriers.
He walked out bar over his shoulder, climbed off the stage, walked to the front where a small crowd were leaning on the barriers, found a relatively empty space and starting swinging the bar.
Fight Like Apes talk about socks
The small crowd jumped back and to the side as the large piece of scaffolding was smacked repeatedly against the metal barriers.
This created a loud clanging sound that managed to compete with the main stage sound system.
Security looked on, unsure what to make of the spectacle, and the rest of the band continued playing on stage.
It was something of an unusual approach to getting a crowd moving.
But it seemed to work in favour of the gritty Irish band who describe themselves as being "pop but with enough distortion to make it credible."
The band went on to perform a great set that set the tone for the rest of the day.
