TT 2010: A guide to this year's festival

Manxman Conor Cummins will be hungry for his first TT victory in 2010

The TT races are more than one hundred years old but they still attract a dedicated audience from all corners of the globe.

2010 is expected to be one of the busiest festivals in the history of Isle of Man racing.

Ferry sailings will increase by 45% to accommodate around 20,000 visitors from all over the world.

This is a guide to the festival for both visitors and Islanders during the festival fortnight.

Road Safety

The Isle of Man Constabulary has launched a series of uncompromising safety messages urging riders to "Stay alert and stay alive".

Hard hitting videos will be shown on the ferries, and all over the Isle of Man, depicting real crash scenes from police archives intended to leave a lasting impression on both visitors and locals.

Nearly all the images used in the campaign are of genuine accident scenes from previous TT festivals.

Entertainment

It's an action packed schedule with stunt production set to get underway every evening.

Throughout the festival fortnight

Children's fun fair on Douglas Promenade.

The TT film festival at the Broadway Cinema celebrates a history of motorbikes on the silver screen. Films include Wild Hogs, Mad Max, no Limit, Great Escape and Take it to the Limit. Tickets are £5 per screening.

Legends of Suzuki Exhibition- A new exhibition celebrating 50 years of Suzuki success at the Isle of Man TT races. Featuring historic motorcycles, racing memorabilia, leathers and the memories of some of Suzuki's top riders. Admission is free at the Manx Museum in Douglas.

Road racing exhibition at St. Ninian's church in Douglas- More than 100 photographs and canvasses featuring images of real road racing will be on display from Sunday 30 May. Traditional Manx refreshments served.

Johnny Borrell, lead singer with Razorlight will be playing all of Razorlights' biggest hits and a selection of his own material at the Villa Marina. Tickets from the Welcome Centre.

The final night

The festival entertainment on the evening of Senior Race day will culminate in a closing show featuring a TT Races Winners' Parade of riders from the 8 Races, the Senior TT Prize Presentation and a firework display over Douglas Bay. The final night will also include a show by the infamous Purple Helmets
