Ronnie Allcote is 'Captain Scarlett'

Scarlett Point Tower stands as a luminous orange beacon on the south coast of the Isle of Man, but there is more to this tower than meets the eye.

Over the past seven years Ronnie Allcote has lovingly restored the de-commissioned coastguard tower to house his passion for amateur radio.

Ronnie who broadcasts live from the tower says it has been a labour of love which has tested him to the limit.

"I am very proud of the tower but I couldn't do it again."

The area is of Scarlett is best known for its breathtaking scenery and unspoilt landscape but now it is known all over the world for this special little tower and all Ronnie's hard work.
