Lara King brings you a mixture of music and chat every morning

Morning show host Lara King gets a grilling from her kids. Kal and Maya's questions about important things to mum.

What's your favourite sport?

If you're talking about spectator sport I'd have to say football and tennis. I don't as a rule do sport. That's for fit and healthy people to do but I rather enjoy watching those fit types going about their healthy business.

What was your favourite subject at school?

English. I was and still am rubbish at Maths but loved reading. Maths makes no sense. English does,. It's wonderful to learn about our beautiful language and fall into a really good book.

I read a lot. Whatever is thrown under my nose I will read it. When I got older and went to college in Grimsby I did my A Levels in Politics and English. Sociology made me think. It made me think about the society we live in and the reasons we act the way we do. My sociology lecturer was dumbfounded when I got a B, she expected me to fail.

What year were you born?

In 1968, the golden days as you kids would say, and yes we had TV then, although only four channels to choose from.

What is your favourite animal?

All of them. But considering we can't have an elephant living with us I'd go for our cat Sally.

Where did you live when you were a little girl?

I lived in a happy home in Laceby Road, Grimsby. I was brought up with two older brothers who had a tendency to beat me up but I still love them.

Do you believe in Santa?

Yes yes yes....why wouldn't I believe in him?

Do you believe in God?

Erm, give me a few minutes. I don't really know. I believe in something. But whether that's a deity I don't really know. I believe in loving and helping and respecting one another. I believe in tolerance and understanding.

What did you do before you were a radio presenter?

I was a radio journalist, and still am really. Before that I worked at children's homes in Grimsby.

How old were you when you started being a vegetarian?

I was about 17, at college and a bit anti-establishment, anti everything really. That included eating meat. I don't eat it but will cook a nice rare steak if anyone asks, as long as they're special.

How old were you when you started working at BBC Radio Humberside?

Ooooh, I think I was about 28.

What is your favourite TV show?

Can I have a few? Sex and the City, House, Holby City, I could go on.

What's your most precious thing?

You two.

Do you believe you're the happiest person in the world?

Wow what a question. When I'm with you two I am, apart from when you're naughty, which of course is never because you're angels and perfect children.
