Tell us who these footballers are
Worcester City Football Club players
Please help to name these footballers and team members

BBC Hereford & Worcester's Dave Bradley has been given an old photograph of Worcester City Football Club players.

He would like help to identify who took the photo, and who the players and other people are.

The photo, taken in black and white, is printed on a post card and has a glossy image with the caption 'Worcester City, F.C.' etched on it.

It looks like the picture was taken, quite a while ago, at the St George's Lane ground.

Dave Bradley said: "The picture was given to me by an old chum, and I have no idea where it came from, or which year it was taken.

"It's on a post card, but there's nothing on the other side to give me a clue."

Post WW2

Dave thinks the photo could date back to the mid to late 1940s:

"Judging by the kit and the clothes being worn by the "officials", I would suspect it's just after the Second World War, but could be between the wars."

If anyone knows the date and any of the players, email Dave Bradley or ring 01905 748485 to let him know.

Information booklet, by the Board of Directors, to join the Football League

Dave said: "If any of the clubs historians would like a good copy, I am happy to let them have something.

"I've also been give a booklet entitled 'The aim of Worcester City Football Club is League Football'.

"Judging by some of the articles inside, the manager at the time was Percy James, John Spilsbury was described as an up-and-coming player and the current dressing rooms had been built, so I would guess this is from around the mid-1950s."

Dave thinks the booklet was produced to convince Football League clubs to vote Worcester City into the league, when the old re-election system was in use.
