The Friday Session - 12.02.2010
The Friday Session Introducing...
On-air and online every Friday night from 1800 GMT

On this week's Friday Session Introducing, there's live music from the North Herefordshire producer Guy The Rev.

We meet the Hereford music teacher who's acting as the whole orchestra in a local theatre production.

The Blockheads confirm a slot at this year's Nozstock music festival in Bromyard.

Plus we bring you 100% local music from across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Stand By Me... In America

We continue our in-depth look at the Hereford supergroup The Pretenders with Fownhope's Martin Chambers.

Since their big hits Brass In Pocket, I'll Stand By You and Don't Get Me Down, the band have continued to enjoy success - particularly in Chrissie's home country, America.

Martin Chambers talks to BBC Hereford & Worcester's Andrew Marston about what life's like on the road.

Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick

Bromyard's Nozstock Festival has started announcing it's line-up for 2010, which includes performances from DJ Caspa and The Blockheads.

Micky Gallagher from the group speaks to BBC Hereford & Worcester's Andrew Marston about what life's like in The Blockheads without Ian Dury and how much they enjoy playing festivals.

Guy The Rev
Guy The Rev used to live in Worcester but now lives in North Herefordshire

It's the Friday Session Introducing... Guy The Rev.

The DJ and producer from Wigmore in North Herefordshire focuses on techno, house and breakbeat music while in his spare time he engineers local bands.

Before moving in near Leominster, he used to hold a residency in Worcester and continues to DJ all over the two counties.

Nick Fisher is a music teacher in Hereford who runs his own shop

We meet the Hereford man who's playing the role of an entire orchestra in a theatre production taking place in Herefordshire soon.

Nick Fisher, who runs his own music shop, was offered the challenge by the Herefordshire Amateur Pantomime Society.

He's since scored all of the music and will perform the tracks live for their production of Cinderella, which takes place at the Courtyard in Hereford from next Tuesday.

We'll bring you the full list of what's happening in Herefordshire and Worcestershire at 1940 GMT.

If you have an event you'd like publicised, email

Andy O'Hare will be here with the Hare Pieces at regular intervals throughout the show.

He goes to more gigs than anyone else we've met in the two counties (and doesn't get paid)!

If you've been to a good gig, or seen a great DJ, get in touch.

Call 0845 300 5006 and leave us a voicemail to broadcast in the last half-an-hour of the show.
