Camp Bastion's field hospital

Inside Camp Bastion's medical facilities

BBC South Today reporter, Steve Humphrey visited the Camp Bastion Field Hospital run by 33 Field Hospital Unit from Gosport, Hampshire.

Facilities include an emergency operating theatre, which is on stand-by 24 hours-a-day, as well as primary care such as dentists and physiotherapists.

Soldiers are also given first aid training to deal with colleagues injured on the front-line.

Many of the 400 staff come from an NHS background.
