Town Church
Christmas weekend sees the island's churches holding special services

If you are after something to do this weekend then take a look through our guide to what's going on around the Bailiwick.

With Christmas Day and Boxing Day its already a busy weekend with church services and a full schedule for the football league on Saturday.

Religion & Ethics

On Christmas Eve the Town Church crib service begins at 1500, with midnight mass from 2330.

Castel Church has a children's nativity play at 1700 and midnight eucharist by candlelight from 2315.

St Matthew's Church is holding a birthday party for Jesus at 1700 and midnight eucharist from 2330.

The Vale Church's Christingle service begins at 1500 with a candlelit midnight mass from 2330.

Holy Trinity Church begin their Christingle service at 1600, with midnight communion from 2315.

St John's Church is holding the first communion of Christmas at 2315.

St Paul's Methodist Church's communion service is at 1800.

Capelles Church's Christingle service is at 1600 with a late night communion from 2330.

St Andrew's Church has two crib services, at 1500 and 1630, and then midnight communion from 2330.

The St Saviour's United Reformed Church's candlelit family service begins at 2330.

The Eldad Elim Church's united service starts at 1830.

And the Church of Scotland in the Grange has a family pyjama service at 1830 and then a watch night service at 2330.

Arts & Culture

On Monday night at the Fermain Tavern there will be a Guernsey Poets open mic evening. There will be live music and poetry for your entertainment at the Fermain Tavern from 1930.

Sport

Boxing day sees a full schedule of football matches taking place in the Senior County Division One and on Sunday afternoon there is a special Media versus The Deputies challenge match at Beau Sejour

Introducing

Local music is also celebrating this weekend with 2 Minutes 2 Late at the White Hart and DJ76 having a Rock 'n' Roll Hop at the Townhouse on Christmas Eve.

The music continues on Boxing Day with the Vale Earth Fair's Rocksing Day show at the De La Rue and DJ Gezzie at the Yacht.
