States of Guernsey March 2010 meeting round-up
Incinerator protestors and Deputy Scott Ogier
Deputy Scott Ogier has been tasked with delivering a new waste strategy

The March 2010 sitting of the States of Guernsey was an eventful two days with waste back on the agenda.

It started with more than 400 people standing outside the Royal Court to protest plans for a waste-to-energy incinerator.

After the move to return it to the island's waste strategy failed Deputy Tony Spruce stood down from the Public Services Department.

On the second day the States lowered the gay age of consent to 16.
