First Click: Improving broadband in the Forest of Dean

Broadband services in the Forest of Dean could improve with the help of a newly-created support group.

The group, approved by the Forest of Dean District Council, wants to encourage the community to come together to show that there is demand for a better service.

It is also hoped that the group can help find solutions to some of the major issues including funding and attracting the major internet service providers to the Forest.

Chair of the group, Councillor Patrick Molyneux, explained the situation to BBC Points West's Matthew Pick.

On Friday 22 October 2010 BBC Radio Gloucestershire will be reporting live from the first BBC First Click course to be held in the county, at Gloucester library.

The BBC First Click campaign hopes to encourage more people to explore the benefits of the internet.

Tune in to Breakfast with Steve Kitchen and Mid-Morning with Faye Hatcher on Friday to find out more.
