BBC Points West's Simon Lewis visited an adult literacy class in Cheltenham to find out more about the BBC My Story competition.
At BBC Gloucestershire we love to hear your stories.
Now the BBC is giving you the opportunity to have your story featured in a new series on BBC One and even published in a book.
My Story is an exciting new BBC competition to find remarkable true stories from ordinary people across the UK.
The BBC will select 15 of the most compelling stories to be told in a major series by the BBC next year.
Everyone has a story to tell, whether it's triumph or tragedy. Five people will win a book deal.
You can enter the My Story competition online by following the three simple steps on the My Story website - just go to

Full Terms and Conditions are on the My Story website.
Literacy classes
To coincide with the launch of the competition BBC Gloucestershire has been along to The Whaddon, Lynworth & Priors Neighbourhood Project in Cheltenham.
There, the local charity runs adult literacy classes. They cater for many people including those for whom English is not their first language.
Reporter Simon Lewis has been to speak to assistant manager Anna Reeves and some of the adult learners. Click on the video box at the top this page to see his report.
