Frank says the animal was wild, but it was encouraged to stay near its sett by offerings of food.

He told us: "I put down peanuts and raisins, plus a couple of low-fat oat and honey biscuits - which badgers just love!"

Frank is also interested in the history of the creatures and their place in rural life in years gone by.

He said: "Some Gloucestershire towns and villages, such as Brockhampton and Brockworth, are named after "Brock", the Old English word for badger."
