In February 2009 freelance film maker Alister Chapman recorded aerial shots of the Severn Bore.
Alister specialises in filming extreme and spectacular natural events.
He has travelled the world shooting all kinds of things from the Northern Lights to Hurricanes and Tornadoes.
He is currently working on a film about the Severn Bore and the surfers that ride it.
To film the aerial shots he used a small HD camcorder from a microlight aircraft.
He said: "It was absolutely freezing, on one of the coldest days of the year, but the snow and the mist added to the atmosphere of the shots. However very soon a sea fog rolled in with the tide and we had to land earlier than planned."
Later in 2009 Alister plans to film further Bores both from the land, water and air. In August and September 2009 several impressive "four star" Bores are expected.
