Edward Wilson South Pole letters on show in Cheltenham

Family scrapbooks, sketches, and letters linked to Dr Edward Wilson - one of the leading members of Captain Scott's Antarctic expeditions - have just gone on display at Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum.

Edward Wilson died with Scott at the Pole. Before those years of intrepid exploration though, he called Cheltenham home, and his statue now stands on the Promenade.

BBC Points West's Amanda Parr looks at the personal effects helping to rebuild a picture of a remarkable local life, and hears from Ann-Rachel Harwood, curator of Human History at the museum.
