The European Ballet is an established touring classical ballet company with a reputation for a high standard of dancing performed by a talented selection of international dancers from around Europe and further afield. You can judge for yourself as the company heads to Gloucestershire with a performance of the famous classical ballet The Nutcracker at the Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury. The company of first-class international dancers, under the direction of Stanislav Tchassov, a former Principal dancer of The Bolshoi Ballet, has a well earned reputation among audiences and critics alike for superb classical ballets and its excellent artistic standards. Set to Tchaikovsky's glorious score the ballet is enhanced by over 45 beautiful handcrafted costumes and colourful sets and is ideal for audiences of all ages. The magic of Christmas comes alive as Clara dreams of her toys coming to life. The exciting moments of the ballet - mysterious Drosselmeyer's spells, a fearsome battle between rats and toy soldiers, the stunning national dances of Arabia, China, Spain and Russia, and, of course, the Nutcracker's transformation into a handsome Prince as he whisks Clara away into the beautiful Kingdom of Sweets - all bring an unforgettable celebration of a favourite story and superior dancing.
