An unsigned band from Chelmsford have had their music featured on the BBC Three show 'Don't Tell the Bride'

The Floe's song 'I Hope You Know' was used in the first episode of the series that featured a civil partnership.

"It was brilliant, you hear your music over and over, and as soon as I heard it on TV it was so refreshing," said the band's Sarah Springett.

"It was really flattering they used it at the moment they where pronounced civil partners."

The Floe, formerly 'AloneMe', are previous session guests on BBC Introducing in Essex with Mike & Ollie.

They are not the first band who have featured on the show to get their music used on TV programmes.

In 2009 Southend's The Lucky Strikes were on Grey's Anatomy and British Intelligence on BBC Switch's 'The Cut'.

"Band's want to use TV and radio as a platform to promote their music, and it can make the music industry sit up and listen if enough of a 'buzz' is created about an act," said Mike Bromfield from BBC Introducing in Essex.

"It's a really good idea just to get you music out in different mediums and I would make this a band's priority."
