Baddies revel in the good times

Baddies have enjoyed a busy 2009, including a slot at Radio One's Big Weekend

Times are good for Southend indie rockers Baddies, with a hectic tour schedule, new album and strong reviews.

The unsigned four-piece released their debut album 'Do The Job' on 28, September and have spent most of the summer touring across much of Europe.

"I think we've done 32 festivals across Europe this summer," said the band's vocalist Michael Webster.

"Apparently we were up for some award and are one of the top UK bands to have played the most festivals."

The remainder of 2009 promises no let-up for the band, with at least 36 more dates across Britain and Europe before the end of November.

The year then ends for them in Melbourne on 30, December and Sydney on New Year's Eve.

The shows will see them promoting their debut album, which has already received positive reviews in the music press.

"It's not going to be number one in the charts, we know that, we're quite realistic," said Michael.

"But it's going to be out there, it's going to be available and it's hopefully going to build and build and hopefully Baddies will take-off, but we know it's not going to happen overnight though.

"It's amazing to be received in the way we have been, it's a bit of a dream come true," he added.

"We're certainly not filthy rich or rock stars, but if it all ended tomorrow at least we've got all those great reviews and all the great things we've done this year."
