See the Doctor Who BBC Big Screen event in Edinburgh

Sneak a preview of the new Doctor Who series. There will be the chance to see the Doctor Who Trailer in 3D and fans can have their photos taken tumbling through the giant vortex from the programme. Some of the scariest monsters from the long-running series will appear at the event so fans can meet them without a sofa to hide behind.

National Trust Easter Egg Trails

Various National Trust properties in the area: Falkland Palace, Culross Palace, Kellie Castle, Gladstone's Land, House of the Binns, Newhailes and Hill of Tarvit

2 - 5 April

Have some fun by following an Easter trail. Collect the clues and win a chocolate egg. Entertainers, outdoor games and face painting will ensure a fun day out for all the family.

Easter at the Scottish Seabird Centre

Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick

2 - 5 April

Easter activities at the centre include Puffin Club events as well as Easter treasure hunts and some Easter bunnies. Professor Egghead and Tammy the Puffin present a Save the Planet Live show throughout the duration of the Easter holidays and there's the chance to hear some storytelling and take part in some art activities.

Ceilidh Culture Street Fair

Castle Street, Edinburgh

2 - 5 April

Get your toes tapping to some traditional Scottish music at the street fair with a difference. As well as the Scottish food, drink and craft stalls there will be a chance to hear a variety of musicians in the city centre.

Easter comedy from Baron Hardegg and Squire Softboiled comes to the castle. Puppet shows, music, dancing and a cast of characters from a jester to a juggler will make for a great day out.

Join in the Easter fun in Leven. Street entertainers and musicians will keep everyone entertained. Children's rides, stalls and Easter-themed activities are also on the menu.

Search for the Holy-Rood Grail

Holyrood Park

4 April, 1100 - 1500

Paint an egg at the education centre and then roll it down the hill. Turn into a history detective by following a map to solve clues in the park and discover the secrets of Holyrood. A prize will be awarded for every completed entry.
