A few ideas for things to do in Dorset this weekend.
Poetry, music and slides
Sir John Betjeman once described himself as a "poet and hack"

This Saturday, St Nicholas' Church, Moreton, will host an evening featuring the poetry of Sir John Betjeman and the 'Englishness of English Art'. It will be presented by Roger Williams and accompanied with music and slides. All proceeds will be donated to the Dorset Historic Churches Trust. Appointed Poet Laureate in 1972, Sir John Betjeman's passion for the English Parish Church and its setting, was hugely influential particularly in the years after his 'Guide to English Parish Churches' was first published in 1958. The Sir John Betjeman night at St Nicholas' Church in Moreton begins at 19.00, for about an hour. Tickets cost £5 each and are available at the door, or in advance from Carol Gibbens on 01929 462468.
