Life saving dog is a world first

Coco, from Broadstone, Poole, is the first dog in the world trained to detect Addison's disease [a chronic adrenal insufficiency].

Karen Ruddlesden has the rare condition and Coco is not only her 'best friend' - he could save her life.

Coco learnt the skills to recognise the symptoms of an attack at the offices of the charity Cancer and Bio-detection Dogs.

Owner Karen says: "He's my little special angel."
