You could "provide a valuable contribution" to the 2012 Games

With 1,000 days to go until the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, Team Dorset wants your facts about the county.

Facts must fall into one of the following categories: heritage and culture, food, sport, people or business.

In total, 1,000 facts are sought.

Every day from 31 October 2009 until the start of the Games on 27 July 2012 [exactly 1,000 days], one fact will be displayed in the local press.

This period will see a build up of celebrations, marking Dorset's involvement as the host county of the sailing events for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, which are being held in Weymouth and Portland.

Team Dorset was set up to help Dorset benefit from hosting these events, and aims to leave a "significant legacy".
