Singer Charlie Hole in session

Charlie has just released his first EP

Acoustic singer songwriter Charlie Hole has been writing songs since he was 11.

Managed by producer and writer Jim Cregan, who has worked with Elton John and Rod Stewart, Charlie has recently launched his first EP with a performance at Bournemouth Folk Club.

Charlie has come a long way since his first ever performance two years ago.

He was asked to play in a friend's wine bar but since then Charlie has been performing regularly around Dorset and beyond.

Still only 16, Charlie, who lives in Christchurch, is hopeful his involvement with Jim Cregan will help secure himself a record deal.

It was because of Jim that Charlie has recently been involved in the Help for Heroes charity track, We Will Remember Them, performed by United Artists Remember.

Abbey Road

Speaking to Sally Taylor on her BBC Radio Solent programme, Charlie said he had just returned from London's Abbey Road studios where the track was recorded.

He said: "Part of the perks of working with Jim is that I was invited along. I thought I was just going to watch but I actually ended up singing on it.

"It's a very good song, and there were a lot of people at the recording you would recognise."

While on Sally's programme Charlie performed two tracks, Find Someone Who Cares, which you can hear on this page, and Stones on a Sandy Beach.

Charlie's next local gig is at the Boscombe O2 venue in December, in support of Bad Company.
