The Rest and Welcome Inn, Melbury Osmond
A landlord is tracing his pub's possible connection to Thomas Hardy, having discovered a reference to it in a Hardy tale.

It was the Dorset County Asylum - the first part was opened at Forston House, near Charminster, in 1832.

Gold Hill, the steep cobbled road in Shaftesbury, has had its ancient wall cleaned as part of new plans to help its preservation.
