Swans freed from frozen Exe

Temperatures plunged so low in Devon during Thursday night that parts of the River Exe in Exeter froze up.

At one point, the swans on the Exe were unable to move as they were trapped in a tiny area, with ice all around them.

The RSPCA was called and the swans were successfully freed.
