A newly formed semi-professional theatre company for Plymouth are holding auditions for their first play, to be performed next February (2010), and are calling on anyone aged sixteen plus who has always fancied 'treading the boards' to come along to the Muse Theatre at Lipson Community College on Tuesday 27th October at 7.30pm to try out their acting talents. Gadzooks Theatre Company has been started by a small group of likeminded people, who love to act and be involved in arts-based projects and feel that Plymouth needs a new kind of theatre company, one that not only entertains and engages with its audiences but also gets out into local communities performing plays and hosting drama workshops. Gadzooks' first play will be David Ives' 'All in the Timing', which will be performed at four different venues around Plymouth. The play, a collection of six short, sharp one act comedies should appeal to audiences of all ages. The audition process is open to anyone aged over sixteen years old and would suit perfectly those who have always fancied themselves as a bit of a thespian and who would like to be involved with a new and exciting theatre company that has community at its heart. There is no need to register for the auditions, just simply arrive at 7.30pm on Tuesday 27th October at the Muse Theatre at Lipson Community College, meet the Gadzooks team and read a part, but if you would like to know a bit more information visit www.gadzookstheatrecompany.co.uk or email info@gadzookstheatrecompany.co.uk.
