Mike Tyson's night in Derbyshire

Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was the star attraction at an event in Derby.

The 43-year-old American boxer proved he still remains a huge draw as 200 fight fans queued for a glimpse of their hero at the Heritage Hotel.

All eyes were on 'Iron Mike' as he sat at the top table, answered questions from the audience and posed for photographs with fans.

Organiser Clifton Mitchell said despite having had less than a week to arrange the event, selling tickets had not been a problem.

He said: "The fact we've sold 200-odd tickets in less than a week shows you how much people still want to see him.

"In the ring he's an absolute diamond. Outside the ring there are obviously issues but for me he's second-to-none as a boxer."

Last time Tyson had made an appearance at the same venue, scuffles broke out following his departure.

But this time, despite having a few problems at other dates on his current tour, the event ran smoothly.

Amongst questions from the crowd was whether he'd fancy a potentially lucrative fight with Britain's new world heavyweight champion David Haye.

Tyson replied he was always tempted but had accepted his fighting days were over - and besides, his kids wouldn't let him do it!
