As the snow fell on Tuesday morning, a Derbyshire County Council gritter found itself in a spot of bother.
The driver of the huge vehicle found he was unable to pull away from the ice and snow on Biggin View in Hulland Ward.
The irony of the gritter's predicament was not lost on student Tom Coxon who chuckled with friends as he filmed the scene from his bedroom window.
After around 30 minutes of struggle, the vehicle was eventually able to pull away from the road and headed back to the depot.
It was a relief the driver had managed to stop the gritter sliding into BBC Radio Derby's radiocar which itself was stuck in the snow just a few yards away.
