On Wednesday, 2 December 2009 analogue signal from the Winter Hill transmitter near Bolton will be turned off.

The move marks the end of the Granada region's digital TV switchover.

Whitehaven was the first area in the county to switch off the analogue television transmitters two years ago.

North Cumbria, which is served by the Caldbeck transmitter, switched during June 2009.
