Harmonies and spite from Atlas
Atlas hail from the north west of England

Atlas hail from the north west of England with a sound reflective of their habitat.

The often angelic harmonies and melodies reflect the beauty of their Lake District surroundings.

But this is tempered with the occasional hard hitting gritty spite that is characteristic of the industrial towns they inhabit.

Formed in December 2007, Atlas have frequented many of the north west's festivals and venues.

This included slots at Kendal Calling '08 and '09, Ravenstonedale and Cockermouth Festivals and venues such as Manchester Academy 3.

Their festival successes lead them to embarking on their first tour in November 2009.

They are playing plenty of shows this year starting in March, with their new EP Launch :

  • 12 March: Berwick upon Tweed, Barrels Ale House
  • 15 March: Lancaster, Yorkshire House
  • 17 March: Barrow in Furness , Forum 28
  • 18 March: Manchester, Retro Bar
  • 20 March: Preston, Mad Ferret

The band are also to be confirmed to play at Manchester and Liverpool's 02 Academies later this year.

They have a MySpace profile at www.myspace.com/atlashq and are currently building a website to be completed by the end of January.
