Campaigners hope to save cinema

Campaigners trying to stop the closure of Penrith's independent cinema have raised just £90,000 of the £750,000 they need.

The Lonsdale's owners want to sell the cinema, along with the bingo hall next door.

The campaigners have until the end of April to raise the rest of the money.

They are hoping they can get more time or negotiate different terms.
