Bluebird rebuild discovers new talent

The team restoring Donald Campbell's Bluebird is putting the welding talents of their latest recruit to good use.

Lindsey Gustavson got involved after hearing Bill Smith talking about the project at the bar where she works.

Now she spends a few hours each afternoon working on the boat, which has led to a course in welding.

It is almost ten years since Bluebird was recovered from Coniston Water, where it had crashed in 1967 causing the death of Donald Campbell.

The boat is being restored at a secret location on Tyneside, and it is hoped she will return to the water during 2011.
