People's Cumbria earthquake experiences

People across Cumbria were woken from their beds as an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter Scale sent tremors across the county.

The epicentre was Coniston in south Cumbria, but houses shook much further north in the Lake District, along the west coast and even in Carlisle.

People described feeling and hearing the earth moving for "well over a minute" just after 2300 GMT on Tuesday, 21 December 2010.

Mark McAlindon reports for BBC Look North.
