Meet Martin Winch

Martin Winch
Winchy, the presenter of Introducing

Q: What's your name?

A: Martin Winch

Q: From?

A: Coventry

Q: Star Sign?

A: Scorpio (I'm on the cusp)

Q: Joined the Beeb in?

A: 1999

Q: What has your career involved so far?

A: Since joining to answer the phones I seem to have done every job going. From reading the sport and producing programmes to emptying the bins and making coffee, I have had a knack of saying yes whenever asked. I now work on the website and sports team and refuse to boil the kettle for anyone.

Q: What does your job involve?

A: I'm responsible for creating content for the website on a whole range of subjects. I can often be heard commentating on Sky Blues matches and compile, write and read sports bulletins. Every week I present a local music show called BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Introducing (Thursdays and Saturdays, 2000-2100). And I also produce Sky Blues Interactive (a football phone-in show every Friday 1800-2000).

Q: What do you like the most about BBC Coventry & Warwickshire?

A: The toilets. The people here are nice too but I'm mostly impressed by the loos.

Q: What's your favourite place in Coventry and Warwickshire?

A: My bed

Q: Who's your favourite person?

A: Me (and the missus).

Q: What's your favourite hobby?

A: Football

Q: Your favourite food?

A: Pasta

Q: Your favourite drink?

A: Water

Q: Favourite song?

A: Yes by McAlmont and Butler.

Q: Favourite film?

A: Cling

Q: Give us a fascinating fact about yourself:

A: My first word was Batman (well Matman actually - I couldn't pronounce my Bs).
